Haiti - Israel came from the other side of the world to help
2010 January 30 In this desperate situation of Haiti Israel turned out to be not only the first one to operate any serious medical assistance for the victims, and the largest one by far for its size to do so (the third largest in absolute terms after the US and France – once the colonialist ruler of Haiti). In addition to this the Israeli field hospital is still the most professional and most effective one in whole Haiti. Israel’s contribution is worth more than that of all its many oil-rich bashers, combined.

ZAKA delegation rescues 8 alive from the collapsed Port au Prince university building
In a disturbing email that the head of the ZAKA International Rescue Unit delegation managed to send to the ZAKA headquarters, he writes of the “Shabbat from hell. Everywhere, the acrid smell of bodies hangs in the air. It’s just like the stories we are told of the Holocaust – thousands of bodies everywhere. You have to understand that the situation is true madness, and the more time passes, there are more and more bodies, in numbers that cannot be grasped. It is beyond comprehension.”
